Fondest memory: In Chartres I just loved the architecture of the buildings, particularly the traditional French ones, brightly painted ones, with window shutters.
I was often more interested in the shops themselves, than what was inside!

Favorite thing: The Cathedral in Chartres -- the awkwardly mismatched towers speak little of the glory that is inside.

The picture is of the central tympanum over the main entrance to the cathedral.
Fondest memory: Standing inside the cathedral and taking in the beautiful blue light from the stained glass windows.
