Coming back from Italy, Charles VIII used waters of Loire to transport on the Italian vessel military extraction - Gobelin tapestries, draperies from a leather, a velvet, Damask fabrics, hand-written books, pictures and a sculpture. The king brought to France also artists, handicraftsmen, cabinetmakers, and set dressers, the manufacturer of incubators and even the expert on cultivation of parrots.
