Cafe/Restaurant Des Arts on Place Charles De Gaulle -- could it sound more trivial? Nevertheless, the food was superlative, French but with a modern nouvelle cuisine twist.
Full dinner with fine local wine set us back mere 40 Euros. They have even better deals if you come for lunch.
What a great local restaurant to stumble upon (granted, it was litterally 50 years from our hotel!)!
La Maison Rouge was a "local French" restaurant which served in 3 or 4 plate dishes. We tried everything that we could including great fduck oie gras (said my father), wonderful bone-in perch w/ buerre blanc, and my husband had a wonderful rumsteak with chevre sauce.
The escargot was sub-par, but the dessert and cheese plate was fabulous - probably the freshest that we experienced in France.
Good local beer, as well, although I don't remember the name. We also had a good time with the "UN Trivia" placemats on the table (I didn't say this place was fancy!)
Favorite Dish: Good Seabass w/ Butter Sauce, Varied Pate, and Goat Cheese salad
Very small place, familiar, and a good alternative to all those restaurants offering fix menus around, the price is good, is much less expensive than the averae, and the salty crepes are great!!
