We could not resist the waterfront location of Le Borde de Loire with its views across the Loire River.
As well as the dining area inside there are outside tables under cover with plastic curtains if the weather does not suit. Although we would have normally taken a seat inside at a window, we chose the latter option as we had our three year old grandson to keep entertained and did not wish to disturb fellow diners.
The restaurant has a selection of menus from €15-30. The advertised specialities include:Salade de crottins grillés; Friture de Loire (en saison) ; Coq au vin ; Escargots ; Tête de veau ; Anguille de Loire ; Pièce de boeuf au pinot noir ; Sandre au sancerre.
We drank a bottle of Sancerre made just a few kilometres away (when in Rome).
Restaurant is closed Wednesday.

Favorite Dish: We chose dishes from the Menu Touristic @ €18.50 Which included entrees of Terrine Maison of chicken livers and red onion compote or Salade Chavignolaise (with goats cheese and lardons).
Mains: Escolope of Salmon in chive butter; Tete de Veau in Gribiche sauce (calfs head & tongue); Piece de Beef With Vigneronne sauce +€3. To finish there was the choice of Cheese platter, Fromage Blanc, Tarte Maison, Creme brulee, Ice Cream or Sorbet.
Between the four of us we ordered nearly every thing except the Tete de Veau. (So far I have avoided trying this dish which is available everywhere in France). I tried a bit from everyone's plates to ensure that it was OK. It was. We all enjoyed the meals. I'm only sorry time did not permit us returning for lunch the next day.
