The main shopping district is located around the cathedral. Nearby streets to browse are the long rue de Vesie, the cours Langlet, and place Drouet d"Erion.
You'll want to include champagne on your shopping list. Many people opt to visit one of the major houses in town; others get in their car and drive along the Routes Du Champagne. This is where you'll find the smaller champagne makers. Another specialty here is the light and delicious little pink cookie known as biscuit de Reims and the best place to find them is La Maison Fossier/Biscuits Fossier, 25 cours Langlet (tel: 03-26-47-59-84). For chocolate and candied specialties, try La Petite Friande, 15 cours Langlet (tel 03-26-47-50-44), where you can purchase liqueur-filled chocolate champagne bubbles and corks.
Champagne prices vary from less than 19 Euros a bottle to over 300 Euros. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: As mentioned abovePhone: Champagne 03-26-40-12-12Directions: Reims, FranceOther Contact: Pink Cookies 03-26-47-59-84

About every champagne house has tours which always end with a nice tasting! If you go to the less well-known houses, the tour can be free if an appointment is made. Well known champagne houses are: Louis Roederer MUMM Piper-Heidsieck Taittinger Pommery Larent-Perrier Veuve-Clocqout Lanson Maxim's Ruinart Canard-Duchêne
I like champagne brut (dry) best. But some like demi-sec (sweet) champagne better. Personally I never buy champagne. Why? Champagne is made of the chardonnay grape in a process called méthode champenoise. Only wine made according to this proces IN the Champagne region is allowed to be called Champagne. But other regions such as Bourgogne and Alsace also make wine according to the exact same process and from the same Chardonnay grape (in Bourgogne) or other grape varieties (such as pinot noir). These wines, called crémants, are much cheaper and just as good! The village Ëpernay is the epicentre of the Champagne region.
Too much in my honest opinion. Leave a Comment Theme: Food and Drink

Since 1874 they are working here in REIMS and everything will surprise you: the shop, the proud owners, the assortment...... Let me tell you a bit about what they (VINCENT & FRANCESCA) have on offer: CHAMPAGNE: extremely large chocolates (noir ou lait) cork-shaped filled with 25 smaller "corks", all very delicious of course. This BOUCHON is a very nice gift! Their GRANDE SPéCIALITé "Marque déposée" is NéLUSKO. Cherries IN COGNAC, that have been having a special treatment during 2 years after which time the stone is removed and the cherries are covered with the finest chocolate: an exquise cherry liqueur chocolate....... The shops by MEdelmann Reims is next to Epernay the main town of Champagne production and so there can be found also some shops there which sell them.
Watch out for such names as Heidsieck, Pommery, Veuve Cliquot, Moet & Chandon, Krug, Bollinger ..........
Good Champagnes are expensive. In normal cases they start with € 15,-- and can go up til € 70,--. It depends on the names you want to buy. But it is a nice souvenir and your dear at home will love you for it, when they like to drink a glass of champagne ..... Leave a Comment Theme: Food and Drink

croquignoles and biscuits roses by mariev For those who don't drink champagne (or want to bring something else), what foodie souvenirs to bring from Reims ? Answer : bicuits; the most traditional ones are the 'biscuits roses' (pink biscuits) - also called 'biscuits de Reims' - light puffy concoctions (traditionally served with champagne but also the ideal base for charlottes - see Fossier's website for some receipes). Other typical Reims specialities are croquignoles and bouchons. The biggest and oldest local specialist is Fossier.
Biscuits roses Croquignoles Bouchons if you like alcohol filled chocolates.
between 3.50 and 4€ for 175/200grs of biscuits/croquignoles (you will pay a bit more if you buy from a souvenir store than from Fossier - those specialities are sold in the champagne stores too). CHAMPAGNE...... by eden_teuling REIMS city centre is home to over 400 shops and is the largest shopping centre in the region (there also is a LAFAYETTE, like e.g. in PARIS !) Major national and international chains, convenience stores, luxury boutiques, regional specialities.......shoppers have plenty to choose from: there are shops for all tastes: let me not forget to mentions the CHOCOLATIERS & BAKERIES...... There are plenty of streets (pedestrians only) to stroll through......from the PROMENADES to the Park Patte d'Oie and around that sweet CATHEDRAL....... The ART DéCO style and the rich architecture that emerged from the city's reconstruction (after being destroyed during the world wars) give the whole downtown area a noble, majestic character. There are many olf covered passages and modern shopping arcades so (window)shopping is possible in all weather. The Place Drouet d'Erlon is a very spacious pedestrians only area and a favourite meeting place...... It has an impressive array of bars & restaurants with huge terraces and e.g. also 2 multiplex cinemas. The shopping district & the Old Town are right next door.....what more could you wish for? And this bottle of CHAMPAGNE?? It is a BESSERAT DE BELLEFON, the best of the best. If you're in Reims during the Christmas Shopping season, be sure to check out the Village de Noel. Outdoor stalls feature local crafts and food. We enjoyed browsing almost all the stalls and sampling the food.
Crafts, jewelry, ornaments, art, snacks, sweets and of course Cheese!
Depends on how badly the dollar's doing... Leave a Comment Theme: Local Craft
