Crouzet-Migette Things to Do

One among the over 80 european registered "Devil's bridge" , this one is over the river Lison (one of the prettiest river in the french Jura).

The legend said that the builder - despairing to be able to finish his bridge (wich kept falling in the river) accepted to sell his soul to the devil in exchange of some help. The mason accepted and the bridge was finished.

But, later, the mason had remorses, and once back home, in Migette he fell so ill that the neighbours tought him dying and called the priest who managed to confort him.

During his journey back to Crouzon, the priest met the very unhappy devil who reached for him (to take his soul in exchage of the mason's one) : the priest was astonished and fell, doing this he clutched his shining cross and the devil was so afraid by the cross that he fell in the water where he sunk (obviously the devil missed some swimming lessons).

Nowadays, when the water is high, the fall is spectacular, and in summer, the spot is very popular for white water kayaking and canyoning.
