Since there isn't much in La Cure we had a look at the hiking signs as it was noon and we were getting hungry.
We found the "Route Royal" which took us downhill to the the more interesting village of Les Rousses in 40 minutes according to the sign for the 2,7 km.
The hiking path follows a farm road which offers great views over the country side and has a couple of benches along the way in case you want to take a break.

Since La Cure is rather off the beaten path you had best come by car if you want to explore the region in depth. La Cure is on the country road D 415.

I haven't spotted any bus stops in La Cure but you can take a narrow-gauge train from Nyon in Switzerland to the Swiss side of La Cure and just step across the border. The train runs more or less hourly at least.

Favorite thing: There is a proper border at La Cure but we didn't need to show any papers. Soon it will be Schengen anyway and then there will only be customs that might check that you don't bring too much cheese and other goodies from France into Switzerland.
You can change Swiss francs at a bad rate in the shop at La Cure but you better use the ATM in Les Rousses to get Euros.
