Outdoor swimming Pool
Favorite thing: There is a large outdoor public swimming pool (with three slides, diving, toddlers pool, wave machine etc) right on the seafront in Dieppe. It is cheap to enter and has two pools, larger/smaller...
Dear friends and the Small Person amused themselves for quite some time in there, (although a little too cold for the Amapola).
I amused myself with a good book while they were swimming, although I was somewhat distracted by
a : An army of minature spiders that kept crawling everywhere (and i mean, everywhere).
b : A school of French male divers peeling off wetsuits directly in front of me, after practising their diving in the large pool (i'm sorry, but they were right in front of me, impossible not to notice)!
Facilities also include : a café that served chips, a shop that sold inflatables, an ice-cream stand, a sandpit and a skating park.
Perfect for families.

Best Time to Go
Favorite thing: Dieppe is probably best enjoyed between the months of May and October when the weather is pleasant and more reliable. The busiest time tends to be the first two weeks of August, when many French are on holiday; the end of August can also be a very busy time on the roads with many Parisians heading home after their summer holidays.
Flooding is possible
Favorite thing: the flooding is real in many parts of France and not much discussed, but it is a problem. We coming from areas that were prone to flooding always keep an eye on where to buy property here.
This is one of our favorite places in Dieppe, Haute Normandie, and as you can see from the recent flooding there it was awful.
the flooding is by the cafe des tribuneaux on a very touristic road Place Puits Salé leading to the church of Saint Jacques. Its not even really near the beach but the water is the water.
Fondest memory: walking this area is always magical and so sad to see under water. Look forward to see if after the water subsides.

Finding some sand in Dieppe.
Favorite thing: There are some stetches of sand, on the west side of the beach (if you are facing the sea), near the Chateaux.

Favorite thing: It's a nice beach surrounded by white cliffs typical of normandy coast.
Fondest memory: I like to go there on sunday morning to eat something on the beach and see this beautiful view when the weather is nice.
Small but beautiful
Favorite thing: Dieppe is a small town with a population of about 30,000. Most of the tourist destinations are within walking distance of hotels.
