Dieppe Nightlife

Maybe worth a mention, but if you are looking for a bar/pub with some colourful local personalities, and some less corporate music, head straight up the main street (away from the sea) that the Saturday market is on. There is a bar right at the end , on the right hand side, that plays some cool music and boasts an eccentric decor and totally bonkers bunch of personalities as its regulars.

On a previous day trip with the KB to celebrate his birthday, we ended up in there quite late, where we had a very amusing evening with (among others) an enormous biker, a strange lady who kept showing us her bra (?!), a toothless old man with a wicked cackle and such the like..

We 'chattered' away with a mixture of badly spoken French, Spanish & English, fortified by the fact that the whole bar bought us a drink (which is why I can't remember the name of the place!) - and had to make a high speed stagger back to the ferry port where we were escorted onto the boat by some people in a small car with caps on (?!)

As it was the last ferry (not recommended, to travel on this ferry, but that's another story) and which ended up sitting in the port for a further hour and a half (unbeknown to us), leaving at least 6 whiskey cokes each behind us at the bar, and being waved off emotionally by our new found amis ; )

The bar was eclectic in decor and featured a strange mural on the toilet wall (edit: have since found pic, as shown ).

A great fun place to meet the locals, although KB & the Amapola were not in the greatest of health afterwards ; )

(Not recommended when you are out with the kids )!

Dress Code: Anything goes, leather, large bras and old levis seemed popular, along with an assortment of hats. (False teeth optional).
