Tout Va Bien: Mussels and Fries at Tout Va Bien

We wanted the Classic Mussels and Fries on the Harbour front at Dieppe. No it's not the classiest of restaurants, it's got more of a cafe' feel to it. The furnishings are adequate, the prices are reasonable and the food and service was food.

The plus side is they serve the larger Belgium fries rather than the French fries.

Favorite Dish: Mussels and Fries

Bistrot du Pollet: The best in Dieppe

The menu is displayed on a blackboard outside and is changed daily, we have been going for a few years and the dishes tend to stay the same, they do change from time to time though. It's quite small inside and you will need to book ahead, especially at the weekend. We really feel this is the best place to eat in Dieppe, run we think by a husband and wife, he being the chef and his wife running the front, she also speaks very good English should you need advice. There is always a nice atmosphere a mixture of tourists and locals.

Favorite Dish: Anything on the menu will not disappoint, though the salad with the local Neuchatel cheese is wonderful, also recently we had small fried fish balls made with cod and potato, which were excellent. Mains then fish rules here, last visit they had St Pierre (John Dory) and Solettes, simple food cooked to perfection. The deserts are also wonderful, it is one of the few places I can eat 3 courses.

Chris and I both love seafood and I thoroughly recommend this fine seafront restaurant. The place was packed full when we arrived but the service was still sick and the food served by lovely ladies who smiled a lot! (More than I can say for the place down the road that hardly acknowledged our existence for 20 minutes. They probably never even noticed we had gone!)

Favorite Dish: We both had the mussels in cream with french fries. (Not original for us but when in France.....) We also had some of the local Normandy cider which was excellent. Tarte au citron and Tarte Normande to finish.

After a morning exploring Dieppe we just had time for a quick lunch before getting back on the road. It was such a lovely day so we wanted to eat outside.

We came across a little place called Villa Candy that suited us just fine. There was a shady outdoor area located on a small square, with the main restaurant just across the narrow road. Service was a little slow, but friendly enough.

Favorite Dish: We all had the Moules & Frites (Mussels & chips) and a beer. The food was tasty and good value, and was just perfect for our sunny visit to Dieppe. The restaurant also served a range of tasty sounding and looking pizzas.

Brasserie Le Regent: Inexpensive non-smoking restaurant

Brasserie Le Regent

I felt like hugging the waiter when I asked for a table and her reply was "smoking or not"? The whole upstairs room is completely non-smoking. I took a picture of the board showing the specials for the day, but my photo didn't come out ok (whoops!). The "plat du jour" was 8 euros and there were 4 or 5 options - apart from everything else on the menu: salads, galettes, steaks etc

Les Écamias: Great food and friendly vibe

Had a very friendly welcome at this small, traditional French restaurant, at the quieter, seaward end of the main quay.

We ate from the 3 course set menu and had an excellent Muscadet wine (which we don't drink much in the UK, but was deliciously light here).

Favorite Dish: The mussells were excellent, I had a fish in a sauce, can't remember which now - it was a good meal, more like home cooking than some of the other restaurants.
