The ferry is famous in Duclair and you cannot leave without having a quick ride across the Seine.
A little less luxurious than a Bateau Mouche, it's still worth a ride as I maintain that the Seine is prettier here than in Paris.
You can take a car or talk to the attendant and go on as passangers - either works.
Lots of fun!
Believe me, I can safely say that the stretch of the Seine here is far more beautiful than that in Paris and Rouen.
It's surrounded by lovely forested areas and old architecture instead of bustling streets and traffic, and it has a lovely quiet beauty to it.
Take a walk along the Seine, sit on a bench and watch the Duclair ducks flying by, then nip across the road to have lunch or pinch a pépite de chocolat from a patisserie.
Don't miss the Tuesday morning market in the town centre. It's quaint and pretty and everything you'd expect from a small town French market.
You can buy local cheese and honey, as well as clothes and nik-naks such as brooches and children's toys.
