Favorite thing: The stained glass of Rouen's Cathedral ranges from the 13C (Chartres School Type) to the 20 C (Max Ingrand). Theold glass was preserved during the war and added to with more from destroyed churches.
Fondest memory: We found it very difficult to take pictures of stained glass windows. The undependable light and multitude of colors and details are hard to focus in a small viewer and the distance to the windows may be great (and we do not carry a tripod). For me it is just luck. Then there are the bewildering stories even if it is the Passion of Jesus which is well-known. Which panels to choose and what do they show? Where did we put our notes about the window locations?. This is abundantly clear at the Cathedral Notre Dame. We have selected 5 “successes” to illustrate the centuries on view. (There are about 5 better illustrations by others scattered among the 500 Rouen pictures, if you want to try to find them).

Favorite thing: visit Rouen's gothic Notre-Dame Cathedral in the main part of the city. The archetecture, as you can see, is gorgeous. I believe that this is the same cathedral which is pictured in Claude Monet's painting, 'Rouen Cathedral'.
