We have not been to "la Couronne", though it is considered as a very good restaurant because they had few customers while neighbor "Les Maraîchers" was nearly booked out. Usually, that has a meaning...
Restaurant "les Maraîchers", also named "le bistrot de la Couronne" is among the oldest on the Place du Vieux Marché. As its name says, it was where the market gardeners (maraîchers) that sold their vegetables on the market, met and had dinner
Favorite Dish: I highly recommend. The "menu bistrot", for 18€ allows a great choice among the local specialties.
As an aperitif, try the "Kir Normand", it is great !
The Auberge Saint Maclou has an inside dining room and outside, weather permitting, (we were lucky), a terrace. As the area is pedestrian only, no problem with the noise of cars.
Favorite Dish: Everything is good, as far as we have been able to taste, all of us having taken different things. Then, that's up to you !
Most delicious meal I had in France. We came here for lunch after my brother's concert.
We ordered off of the prix fixe menu. I had this lamb and couscous main entree. Dessert was delicious. It was this baked apple with a brandy-creme sauce. Tre magnifique!
Favorite Dish: A baked apple dessert.
Great restaurants all over town..i enjoyed the restaurant next to the Hotel Cardinal which had inside and outside seating..also menu was in English when requested...
Family owned restaurant which was in its 4th generation..very nice and friendly staff that didn't laugh too hard at my attempts to speak French from a newly learned Berlitz tape
Favorite Dish: As usual..I played menu roulet and came up with a winner 'plat du jour'
The oldest inn / restaurant of France - 1345
This restaurant is very nice. Of course the food is great but i love also the pictures showing some personalities or stars who have eaten here.
Favorite Dish: Specialities of Rouen
Veritable Duck à la Rouennaise
The restaurant is situated in the foundations of the old, unfinished Town Hall, built in 1749.
Favorite Dish: Tarte tatin flambée avec Calvados.
Menu Caveleur € 19 four course dinner. Choice of starters, main course, fixed cheese course and choice of desserts.
Menu Thomas Corneille € 27,50 four course dinner with choice of starters, main course, cheese and desserts.
ROUEN one of the most important
gastronomical places in Normandy.
Drawing inspiration from both classical and modern cooking, a large variety of regional dishes are served in the numerous restaurants of Rouen, and its surrounding region. These include : duck paté, Normandy sole, pressed Rouen duck, Rouen sheep's foot, the renowned cheeses of Normandy, apple tart, and soufflé. Apple sugar, apple jelly, apple pastries, without forgetting the chocolates complement the list of culinary specialities that can be accompanied by bottled cider, and Calvados. Rouen is also famous for its typical ornamental faience which can be seen on a multitude of every day objects, or quite simply just decoratively. In Rouen, there are more than twenty gastronomic restaurants amongst the best in Normandy. The Order of the Duck was formed in 1986 by a group of people concerned about maintaining our culinary traditions. Its purpose is the preservation of our cultural inheritance : culinary art, symbolized by the enhancement of that great regional recipe Rouen Duck.
MMMHHHH, a very good restaurant. You can eat traditionnal food and it is not very expensive.
It is an old restaurant and we can see that by the atmosphear with a piano and sometimes there is some evening with jazz.
Favorite Dish: All of them. I like the French food.
