Fontainebleau Tea Room: Enjoy the tea room

by Beausoleil Written Jul 7, 2014
    The tea room

The tea room is open every day except Tuesday from 1 May to 30 September and from 9.30 AM to 7:00 PM..

The entrance is on the ground floor of the Belle Cheminée Wing on the Porte Dorée side which is accessed via the Allée de Maintenon.

There are two terraces, one on the Allée de Maintenon and one on the Cour de la Fontaine, where you can enjoy lunches and light snacks. Check the Special of the day for a delicious bargain lunch.

Favorite Dish: We arrived very late for a French lunch and were delighted to discover they were still serving the Special du Jour. It was our favorite confit de canard which we thoroughly enjoyed with a bottle of Bordeaux and seats overlooking the lake.

They also sell local products and have ice cream available as well as sandwiches and faster food than we care to eat. It is a most pleasant place to enjoy lunch in a lovely setting and then set off on a tour of the gardens.

CHEZ BERNARD: Great lunch after Palace visit

by Chickytrick Updated Oct 26, 2013
    Having dinner

The restaurant is very nice. Close to the palace. Not too expensive, but it always depends on what you order. It's a bistro with rather casual, family atmoshere. The place got full by 20.30, this is a good sign meaning that bad places are never overcrowded. It is better to make a reservation beforehand.

Favorite Dish: We had oysters. We just loved them!
Duckbreast was for the main course. Also delisious.
Looks like the restaurant serves good food and the service itself was very good.

    L'AXEL: Royal Dinner

by Chickytrick Written Oct 26, 2013

The restaurant has Michelin stars and serves high cuisine. You can choose a la carte or take the dinner set, which is cheaper and actually optimal.

It was a very elegant, tasty and memorable dinner.
