Monoprix: French cuisine groceries
a very nice chain we follow in France and certainly here in Fontainebleau with its central location at the Grande rue. Monoprix is good upscale value at convenient prices, but reasonable.
big store with large sections on non food too. we go for some groceries on the run for the home away from home or the road snacks/drinks.
What to buy: we buy groceries for home and the road.
What to pay: convenient store prices but reasonable.

lovely French antiques
This shop was just near the entrance to the Fontainebleu chateau complex and the pieces in it that could be seen from the door and front window looked rather impressive - they certainly look very French and fit into the location very well!
Cant tell you what the prices were as I knew at the time they didnt fit into my budget travellers budget and I was in a bit of a rush to get back to Paris - but I should have had a look for the shock factor!?
Lovely though - and I could imagine that main piece fitting in nicely at home!
