 | Marne-la-Vallée Flights and Airline Tips | Tips 1 - 10 of 10 | | We flew with Air France from Aberdeen to Charles de Gaulle airport. The flight is quite short about two hours, but we had a delay of almost two hours because of a thunderstorm over Paris. I know you can't predict the weather but after the initial announcement there was no further comments from the cabin crew. We guessed we had missed our slot for landing in Paris after all it is one of the biggest airports with lots of flights from around the World. The free inflight drinks are limited in choice, on the return journey we brought our own snacks and bottled water, this flight had no hiccups or holdups so we had a pleasant flight with Air France on our return Leave a Comment |
TT Prestige is a private car transfer company, we used their cars for transfer to and from the airport The cars are for your exclusive use and price is dependant on your party size. We paid 90 euros for two to get from the airport to the hotel. On our return to the airport we were with our Son and his family, so six in all, the price was only 5 euros more. The drivers all speak English, are smartly dressed and meet you in arrivals and at your hotel reception. We found this a pleasant and efficient means of transfer for both comfort and safety. To get to and from the Parks from your hotel use the free shuttle buses. They run every 20 minutes from early morning until late evening. The parks are around eight minutes from the hotels but the journey time is often longer when the bus stops at most of the hotels along the route. If you are used to queueing in an orderly fashion as in the U.K. you will most probably not get on, it's every man for himself here, it goes against the grain but you have to just push in. Try to keep your party together - these buses are packed and you may have guessed you probably won't get a seat either. I didn't take a picture of the bus, if I had I would have been left behind. We chose to travel by Eurostar as the most convenient way for us to get to Disneyland Paris, from the UK you can board Eurostar from Waterloo station in London or Ashford International in Kent you are allocated a carriage and seat number although both going and returning we found people sitting in our seats and had to ask them to move so that we could all sit together the journey is fast and our grandchildren were fascinated by the fact that we were travelling under the sea, though worried that the water would come in and disappointed that they didnt see any sharks [I dont think we had explained the tunnel clearly enough to them] we changed trains at Lille for the TVG service to Marne-la-Ville, in Summer I imagine that Lille station is very pleasant, in March however it is very cold, there is a waiting room on the ground floor which was a few degrees below Arctic temperatures, otherwise find one of the infra-red people warmers and huddle round, on returning to the UK you must check in at least 30 minutes before departure and go through passport control there isnt a great deal of luggage space in board the Eurostar, so pack light Leave a Comment |

There are two paddle boats which ply the river around Thunder Mountain in Fronterland, Mark Twain and the Molly Brown. On board sometimes they have a jazz or an American old time band playing other times there is pipped music of times gone by. It is a relaxing 20 minutes or so, admiring the views on the shore of fisherman Joe's landing, smugglers cove, settlers landing and Gyser Plateau, which is based on the hot mud pots in Yellowstone National Park. The Disneyland Railroad is a steam train which takes you around the outside of the park. You can pick it up from the entrance to Main Street, Fantasyland or Fronterland. I think this 2.2km train ride is a great way to get your bearings & have a general overview. The three trains are exact replicas of steam trains used across America in the 1880s, as are the authentic stations. Leave a Comment Theme: Train |
From Paris take the RER (commuter train) Line A direction Marne-la-Vallée. A station in central Paris from where you can get it is Chatelet. It takes approximately 45 minutes to get to Disneyland from there. Leave a Comment Theme: Other |
There are 3 horse drawn street cars, San Fransisco, St Louis and the Satatoga. These will take you to or from Central Plaza along Main Street USA. The street cars are vintage, circa 1900. There can be queues so pick your timing. Leave a Comment Theme: Other |
