Favorite thing: This is the beginning of a Franco-American cooperation;;;another one ::)
The town I first came to meet what today is my wife of 22 years!!! She is a native of Meaux,and her street is on my front page here.

its a town that allows me to really get to know France from 1990 onwards, first visiting every year from our base in FL USA,and then by becoming French and coming to live in France in 2003 to stay.
You have the brie cheese and the mustard of Meaux as culinary delights,and the paved old streets around rue remi, and the wonderful gothic historical Cathedral of Saint Etienne,and the great majestic river Marne that ,also gives the name to the department and take you to Champagne country.
The new tourist office site, and don't forget to visit the musée de la grande guerre as the battle of the Marne was fought all around the city.

Fondest memory: walking along the river Marne, attending the market ,and visiting the Cathedral and its complex of Bossuet, gardens and palais episcopal.

Fondest memory: Meaux is a charming little town and not far from Paris. So I guess it is also a good place for trips to Paris.
The photo shows the old town centre of Meaux. It was in morning just before we started our trip to Bordeaux.

Let´s have a piece of Brie - in Meaux
After we couldn´t find any free bedroom in Reims, I drove to Meaux. Luckily there was a nice hotel there which had a room for us and so we spend a night there on our way to Bordeaux.
A bishop and a king, and family there too
and my wife native town, so yes I know it more than from a tourist point of view. Nice town by the river Marne and close to Disneyland. And just around the battle of the marne, with a nice memorial......
