Under the Arch (2), Nanterre

The Arch through a red sculpture, Nanterre

Maillekeukeul Says:  From time to time, some sculptures are popping up on the "Parvis de La Défense" (the square fronting the Arch) and you never know if they are to stay permanently or if they will decide, one of these days, to leave and let La Defense be a "pure" business area, without any...

Look up at the Arch...

Look up at the Arch..., Nanterre

Maillekeukeul Says:  This man with binoculars is a sculpture (you had already guessed, Okayyyyy !!!). It bends his back so that it might see the top of the Arch... You'd better do some workout before trying to imitate him, if you don't want your spine to break !!

None: Eat on the stairs !!!, Nanterre

Maison de la Musique

The Maison de la Musique proposes musical intertainements from boring to brilliant. I mainly liked the operettes of Hoffenbach which are acted once a year.
If you go there, give a tip to the usherette, she may be my daughter.

Tours Aillaud

Tours Aillaud, Nanterre

GUYON Says:  These towers can be seen from La Defense. They are blue and white to be in harmony with the sky and the windows have the shape of rain drops. The architect was a dreamer and the reality has had its revenge. It is uneasy to furnish an appartment with rounded walls. The tiles...

An enigmatic piece of wall

An enigmatic piece of wall, Nanterre

Maillekeukeul Says:  When you walk up the stairs towards the Arch, when coming from Paris, the first thing you see is this strange piece of an overtagged wall ... I don't know if tags have been added by some people living in the neighborhood or if it was originally tagged and meant something......

The view from the Arch of La Defense

The view from the Arch of La Defense, Nanterre

Maillekeukeul Says:  I'm not sure that all travelers visiting La Defense know that the city behind the Arch (when watching it from the Paris side, of course) is Nanterre. And the first thing they will see of Nanterre is... its cemetary !!!!
