To a lot of European tourists, this is their heaven...it is very ideal for camping, walking and jugging. It can also be notorious in the night though.
Fondest memory: The night activities... Don't ask me!

Favorite thing: The Parmentier's statue stays in front of the city hall.
Parmentier is the man who introduced the potatoe in France at the end of the 18' century. It was an important issue because the population was too numerous and the climate was becomen too cold. So a huge food shortage was permanent and the potatoe was the solution.
Easy to plant, easy to grow with a good nutritious hability.
Fondest memory: But the population refused to eat the potatoes : the devil's vegetable (because it grows underground) coming from a salvage country (at this time).
Parmentier bought a field in Neuilly in the "Plaine des Sablons" and planted his potatoes.
He had an idea to catch the interest of the French people. During the day, the field was guarded by soldiers as precious things. At night, the soldiers left and the people whose curiosity was stimulated went to steal the potatoes and discovered they were a good food.
Meanwhile, Louis 16e had a potatoe white flower at his royal hat. To everybody telling him what was this flower, he answered : "it is a potatoe flower, the plant which is able to feed My People".
May be, it was the first advertisement using a star.

Favorite thing: Built at the same period than Sacre Coeur, with the same white limestone than the famous Basilic, this chuch is a testimony of the richness of the locals.
It is so huge for the small town which existed when it was erected.
Fondest memory: The Church is located avenue Achille Peretti, the Neuilly mayor between 1947 to 1983.
Previously, the avenue was named avenue du Roule in memory of the road which went from Paris, crossed Neuilly and went to the Route de Rouen (current N13). At the extremity of this avenue was the first Pont de Neuilly.
At this time, la Defense was a "cul-de-sac" which ended at the Seine and was called "Demi-Lune" because there was here a half-circular plazza on which the coaches with 8 horses were able to make a U-turn.

Favorite thing: A proof Neuilly is a wealthy city : it is the only one which has a monument dedicated to the police which is still in good order.
Imagine the same monument at Aubervilliers !
To say the truth, the monument is for the polimen who were involved in the liberation of Paris during WWII.
Fondest memory: It is also located rue Achille Peretti, in front of the Church.
