    personalized artwork, Montmartre

In many of the main tourist spots you'll find street artists who will doodle your likeness for a price. Many of them have caricatures on easels showing their humorous abilities, but others have definite quality. I've seen many in progress that were near-perfect renditions of their subjects. Prices are negotiable, but sittings might require more time than you wished to spend.

You can meet Parisian mime in artstic center of Paris - district of Montmartre.
I've met this one on the picture just downstairs Montmartre Hill walking down Basilica Sacre Coeur. Say hello to him from me whenever you meet him.

    Street Artists in Paris are...

Street Artists in Paris are unmatched by any other city across the globe! The best musicians can be found in the Metro -their tunes echoing down the corridors. Some often board the carriages and serenade your journey - most of these do not even want any money! My favourites were a guy on a xylophone and another with an accordion who actually sounded like an entire orchestra he was so skilled. If they are good give them 5/10 FF or whatever you can spare. If you really love them, the best usually have CDs you can buy.

Another hub of activity is Montmatre where there are more performing artists such as clowns and classical emotion acting along with the always clever moving statues. If you don't know what I'm on about then you'll have to find out won't you!? Montmatre along with Square G. Pompidou have lots of portrait artists too, which vary widely in talent!

    Golden cowboy in Paris

Near the church of Our Lady are many artists of streets. There you can hear drums of Africa, guitars and passionate tango of Argentina and see many mimes.

    clowning around

I was unaware the clowns wanted to be paid to be photographed, and when I went to take a photo the wee clown hid himself. Once I showed him euros he gladly came forth for photos!

    Parisian mime?

Oh, sometimes mimes do sth against their mime job.
Hmmm... they are sensitive human beings not cold ghosts, sensitive humans... for pretty women especially :-).

    Mime's music :-)

Every a few minutes he unexpectedly changes his pose.
And as you can see on the picture he has a tape-recorder and play French folk music.

How to earn money for doing nothing?

    Parisian mime

As you can see on this picture he stands on the waste-paper basket in a specific pose and hmmm... does nothing.
So, he gives money for doing... nothing :-))). Good job?

    Tag

The walls of Paris are invaded by drawings and tags which have not generally the quality of this one.
On the picture, a drawing made for the "2002 Paris Plage" (see "off the beaten path").
