Over the years, I have played La Locomotive on a few occasions with diffrent bands, the most recent being Sing-Sing and previous to that Dreamfield.
Always good fun to do, if a little nervy (no sound check!). The people at the Locomotive clubs always treat you well, as do most venues in France.

Didnt get to experience much of the Paris nightlife but that i did i thoroughly enjoyed.
Me and my friend went to La Locomotive, which is actually right next door to the infamous moulin rouge (so we rolled into the club after the show), we went on a friday night and it was 18 euros with one alcoholic drink, but all the clubs are pretty much this price. Club was good, if your not into your dance music, this club played nirvana and ACDC alongside its justice and i cant really remember anything else to be honest.
We got pulled up onto the raised table in the middle to dance, everyone was going for it, bar queue not that bad but not the best (10mins tops).
If your blonde though make sure you know how to handle the male gender but it was an enjoyable night and the taxis are waiting outside so no hassle there.

Dress Code: I dont think there was one, not a dressy place, i wouldnt go in heels thats for sure.

Just by the Moulin Rouge

Huge nightclub situated next to Moulin Rouge in the Pigalle district.
Three different levels with three different kinds of atmospheres and music. Electronica/Hiphop/Dance. Always packed with people from 18-28, a lot of them tourists. VIP section for those who buy a bottle of vodka (around 150 Euros).

Dress Code: Went there a friday night in July with jeans and sneakers. No problem at the entrance.

Entrance of

La Loco, on the side of Moulin Rouge is a very popular dancing club in the very heart of the Paris nightlife.

3 levels with 3 dif. genres of music and a very international atmosphere. I was there on a private party, the basement was only ours, but I had a lot of fun on all 3 levels! :)

Dress Code: Jeans are good enough, but you have to be trendy to get some attention of course...:)

There are three dancefloors with three different kinds of designs and music. Great place to party all night, especially in the room downstairs (looks like an old industrial hall). People were really in a good mood - there was French music playing and everyone was dancing and singing - great atmosphere!

Dress Code: not that I know of... :-)

La Loco and the Moulin Rouge

I have mixed feelings towards this nightclub.

I love it because entry is free for international students on friday nights - i was an international student (it wasn't expensive otherwise, before midnight it cost 10 euros with a free drink)
I love it because they have a variety of music - rnb, house and cheese
I love it because it is easy to find and access
I love it because it is near the Moulin Rouge, so I got to see everyone all dressed up and think 'some day I will go and see their dinner and dance spectacular'!

I hate it because it is too close to the red light district
I hate it because there are a lot of young, horny teens who do not take no for an answer
I hate it because the minimum card payment is 10 euros, but drinks cost 9 euros...

Hey, it turns out I love Loco more than I hate it! So i guess you should go!!

Dress Code: I guess the only thing you can't wear is tracksuit bottoms...I have seen people enter wearing baseball caps, jeans, trainers, really thick jumpers...

We had heard that La Locomotive was a cool place, but got a bit dissappointed as we got in. There really wasn't a dresscode and people were using their everyday clothes. I felt overdressed. The area isn't safe either. A bit trashy.

3 dance floors devoted to different styles of music. Often live music on the middle floor, modern in the basement and themed on the top floor (e.g. 80s or whatever).

Dress Code: Smart casual - note like most places in Paris they are more strict about your skin colour than your manner of dressing. Also groups of guys should usually gang up with some girls in the queue as they often won't be admitted.

This is a very nice place to be, lots of divers music such as techno, house, and also normal pop music. We have been there last year for the millenium and will probably be returning this year.

Dress Code: No running shoes, no jeans, no singles !!!

It is huge, three floors. Each floor has own style; more tecno, arab...
It costs 60-100ffr to get in, and you get one drink for free. Drinks are 20-50ffr. The place is hot, very crowded.
Attention! They don't want there to be too many boys, so they don't always let just boys in, so boys you have to take girls to get inside.
Be aware of drugusers, pickpockets and fights in the disco. It is also situated in 'a bad area', I wouldn't recommend it to lonely girls. (Best group would be 2 boys and 2 girls.)

Dress Code: Anything, what ever you want to wear!
