My 1st experience of T2G was in July 09 on a trip from Edinburgh to Ljubljana. I've used CdG many times, and I'm almost adjusted to its idiosyncracies, but...
When I asked the AF transfer desk where I should be going, the lady explained, added it is "complicated" and wished me "good luck"...
T2G is a 10 minute shuttle bus trip from the other T2 areas. The shuttle bus arrangements are pretty well signposted, and the service is very regular - say every 5 minutes at peak times.
It is tiny - like a small regional airport. However apart from an unpleasant experience with the only airside food outlet (Bert's) it all worked well enough for me both outbound and inbound. It is used by AF only, and just for what they class as regional services - Paris to Ljubljana, for example - and use small planes.

This is a food & drink outlet - cafe style - at CdG Airport. I had the misfortune to use the one at terminal 2G (no choice) but I noticed one at terminal 2E as well.
I paid an incredible €9.90 for a 50cl bottle of San Pellegrino water and a smoked salmon sandwich. Now I know the £ is low against the €, and I know inflation in food prices in France has been very high in the last 12 months, but "rip-off" is the only way to describe this.
Had the sandwich been good I might have accepted the price a bit better. However, the bread was dry and they used a minute piece of salmon, carefully arranged and packaged so that it looked the opposite.
If you have a choice, avoid this place.

CDG is Paris's main airport with its three terminals servicing pretty much the whole of the world. When I first flew to Paris the terminals were connected by bus and the driver was the most surly and unhelpful guy ever. But recently this has been replaced by a driverless transit system which works OK.
Personally I find this not the most user-friendly airport in the world with the signage being a bit obfuscating (bearing in mind that I can read Cyrillic!) but generally speaking it's not a bad airport.
At least the bars are reasonably priced!
Website is pretty good tho' ;)

South of Paris there is the second biggest airport of the city: Orly Airport. This is the busiest airport for national flights, and the second one in France according to the total number of departures.
The airport has two terminals. Orly-Sud is the one where mostly intercontinental flights depart: to the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East and North-America. Orly-West has mostly national and some continental departures. These two terminals are connected by the OrlyVAL, a metroline that runs every few minutes and that also connects with the RER-line.
This RER-line is the fastest connection to the city-centre. Take line B to go to the centre, or to go to the other airport: Charles-de-Gaulle. A trip to the centre takes about 35 minutes. Another way to get to the centre is by taking the Orlybus, that goes directly to Denfert-Rochereau, a square in the south of the centre.
There are no TGV-connections directly to Orly. You'll have to take the RER/Metro to get to the nearest trainstation.

TGV is usually prompt and they arrive at the station which is at terminal 2. american departs from 2A. it is a quick walk from train terminal to the american airlines check in desks. AA is usually full and their check in areas are always a bit crowded, less so if you are flying Business Class. The security procedures take longer than the Air France check in . Many of the airlines may close their check in 45 minutes before departure. I dont think it is wise to arrive at CDG any later than about 2 hours before the flight departs. Good Luck.

Air France was not the worst flight I have experienced but I didn't appreciate the 2 hour delay in take off with no explanation. Once we took off the flight was relatively smooth and the service was good. We arrivd in Paris a litle before 11am, tired but ready to go explore.

Look at the site of the paris airports and you would see how close you are to arrival and departure gates. This morning I arrived at CDG (by the way it is CDG, for Charles de Gaulle), and our aircraft was parked at a distance, we were bussed in (possibly because it arrived from India!).. even then at that busy time everything goes smoothly.. remember, you dont fill out any forms to go through the immigration and if you have USA passport, they would just look at you and your picture and very seldom anything else. your luggage would go directly to Budapest and you can walk out of the terminal and take the inter terminal navette..
check out the website it is very helpful.

Charles de Gualle Airport is one of the busiest and largest airports in Europe and every major (and minor ones too) airline have flights to Paris via CDG. Although the airport can be a bit confusing, transportation into Paris city center is quite easy.
I usually only fly American Airlines into CDG as I am an elite member and with two direct flights from NYC, it's easy and convenient for me.
The flight is usually a nice and comfortable 8 hour flight, with pleasant flight attendants.
All of the American Airlines flights arrive/depart from Terminal 2A (Except flights to/from London which are in Terminal 2B).
For information about which terminal your flight will arrive in, check out the website below.

Honestly I didn't know where to put this tip but I recommend you to walk along the Charles de Gaulle Airport. I like to walk on the airports I've been even though most of the times they have the same stores but you always find something different.

I had got a cheap deal to Paris from Marseille by Ryan Air. My both ways ticket (To Paris and back) cost me a total of Euros 17.99 including taxes. Shamefully cheap. Although I have taken many flights of Ryan Air before at very cheap prices, none were so cheap. The service was also good.
