Chez Germaine, Paris

At lunch from noon to 12:30 they have a formule rapide which is 2 courses for 9 euro. Otherwise at lunch and dinner they have 3 courses for 12 euro. The sizes are smaller and the food is very homely. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavour.

I started with the leek vinaigrette and Take had the oeuf (egg) mayonnaise (an egg salad of sorts). For mains I had the chicken and Take the fish. Both were simple, authentic and tasty. Dessert we shared, ordering the cheesecake and fondant.

The service was warm and friendly and the restaurant had a really local feel to it. It was a relaxing and enjoyable meal... and cheap.

Favorite Dish: My chicken with rice was tender and seasoned to perfection. Yum.

This tiny restaurant is a member of an endangered species: the "places-were-you-feel-like-you're-eating-at-your-grand ma's".

Chez Germaine, you will eat simple hearty family dishes, for so cheap you won't believe the check. Entres, for example, cost less than 10 Euros!!

All this in the heart of the 7th district, where even breathing is expensive!!!

No credoit cards. Only cash accepted.
Book in advance as this is a very popular with the locals but TINY place.

You can also of course order "à la carte" whatever you wish. Starters are then around 5 Euros, Entrees 9Euros, and desserts around 4 Euros.

No coffee, since there is no... coffee maker!!
