  • L'Avenue: Horrible hostess, attitude

by leonir Written Mar 6, 2014

In Paris with my wife for a short break! Had no reservation and walked in shortly after 2:30pm for a lunch. Hostess told us to wait and then came back and said they cannot accommodate, meanwhile a French couple with their friend walked in before we left and requested a table with NO Reservation just like us and where accommodated right away…THEY SPOKE FRENCH!!!! Disgusting…My wife politely asked for help since we were no familiar with the area and it was raining heavily!...all we got…ATTITUDE!

    l'Avenue: Dining on Avenue Montaigne

If you get exhausted while shopping at Nina Ricci, Christian Dior, or Escada on Paris' most chic Avenue Montaigne, a good rest stop would be l'Avenue. Decorated by none other than Paris' most famous Jacques Garcia, l'Avenue has quickly become the place to see and be seen. You could stop by for a café, un verre de vin, or a full repas (meal) during dining hours. It is strategically located at the corner of avenue Montaigne and rue François 1er.

A nice brasserie w/ continental cuisine. Situated on Ave Montaigne full of designer shops (Christian Dior is just right across the street).

Favorite Dish: Lobster salad FF190, Mango sorbet
