This was the 2nd best meal I had in Paris! I found it very difficult to eat vegan in Paris, but luckily my boyfriend and I had eaten at their sister restaurant, L'ete En Pente Douce, earlier in the week and they had given us the card to this place. We entered on a rainy evening and found the place warm and utterly charming. The menu was identical to their sister restaurant so this time I ordered the tagliatelle pasta with wild mushrooms and it was fantastic. Our waiter was very nice and friendly, gave us great service. This place gave me one of the best memories of Paris I will have. I highly recommend it.
Favorite Dish: The Tagliatelle with Wild Mushrooms was wonderful. The pasta was cooked just right, the tomatoes were fresh, the mushrooms flavorful. I loved every bite!

The cafe is really nice, whenever I go to Paris, I go there (every 6 months) but this time was really terrible. People who works is abrupt. I was there at 22.04.2008 nigth.
It was my last day. I was on holiday, I wanted to be relax, I was drinking vine etc.
Everything was great. Then commis came and said something irritable, asked the money. He was really nervous. I said you were not nice. He took my drink. I could not understand what happened. Nobody can not behave like this. His chief just watched us. Is this civilization ?
If you don't want to be unpleasure especially you are on holiday, never go there.

If you love books as much as I do, you'll be delighted with La Fourmi Ailee! Located in an old bookstore of the Latin Quarter, the place doesn't seem to have changed all that much since the days when Sorbonne students would go there to pick up a few books. The walls are still lined up with bookshelves, which of course makes for a great atmosphere! Oh and by the way, the food's really good too ;o) We all went for very different meals (I had fresh pastas a la Provencale, Debora had the beef carpacio and Sylvain had the "assiette fumee") and we were all very pleased with what we ordered. Service was a little slow, but we had a good bottle of wine so it didn't really matter. All I can say is that it really put me in a good mood to go shopping at Shakespeare and Company just around the corner!

Cafes in France are usually pretty impersonal and the decoration is cold. La Fourmi Ailee on the other hand is very welcoming : it has such a cozy and friendly ambiance. Walls are packed with books and paintings. There is even a fire in the chimney in the cold parisian days...
La Fourmi Ailee is located next to Notre-Dame, which makes a nice break after visiting the area.
Favorite Dish: There is quite a large list of different teas. That is one of their specialty. Also, you can have lunch/dinner over there although their menu consists of a few dishes...

So many restaurants! Lots of choices, really. But, I think that I prefer La Fourmi Aile, the best. A small restaurant in what used to be a bookstore. The inside decor still incorporates books (some of which they do sell), art, and artifacts--most of which are for sale, also.
The menu is pretty much constant...fare is reasonably priced, with generous amounts of food. The first time i was there i had the salmon (fumé) salad...amazing! The salad must have consisted of the whole salmon! The salmon was sliced thinly and piled on top of greens. I barely finished.
The second visit, I had the pork cutlet dish with haricots verts. This was very delicious; the meat was tender and juicy. Again, the helpings were quite generous. I highly recommend this restaurant.
