The Tour de France is the greatest cycling marathon.
Held in the end of July it is quite a tourist event.
I always wanted to escape the Paris crowd and go watch in the French Alps.

In the summer, the city blocks off traffic from the quays and put tons of sand and beach games and activities on the road for "Paris Plage" - Paris Beach. A fantastic idea, really cool :)
