The construction of this palace spanned the years 1722 to 1728 and was built for the Duchess of Bourbon, daughter of Louis XIV. The neo-classical front, though, dates back to 1807, corresponding to the style of the peristyle at Madeleine, which, on the opposite bank, closes off the view onto Place de la Concorde. This palace is now the site of the Assemblée Nationale, and has been beautifully decorated, notably by Delacroix.
This building, where the senate is located, on one side of the Seine, across the Louvre is simply astonishing.
This place is highly patronised by tourist. It is very close to the tower, Invalides, Trocadero, etc. It also depicts the democratic values of the French.
