by starbreeze7 This New York's 5th-avenue equivalent is not only similar in structure but similar in cleanliness. I am surprised, given the high-class boutiques that "littered" this long avenue, how hard it is to find a trashcan long the entire street. I walked and walked and couldn't find one. I guess that's why plenty of people leave their trash by the roadside, on the handrails of subway stairways etc. It's worth walking down this street just to check out the ostentatious architecture of some stores, and of course the Arc of Triumph at the end of the avenue. There is also a Tourist Information office near the Arc of Triumph. Leave a Comment

Champs Elysees refers to the "Elysian Fields" where happy souls dwelt after death, according to Greek mythology. It is a popular tourist destination and links Arc de Triomphe to place de la Concorde. I did enjoy myself walking along the streets especially the Disney store, Nike outlet and Planet Hollywood Cafe. It is definitely a good shopping place for branded goods. Directions: Exit metro station Champs Elysees Clemenceau

by Tomtom-Paris Champs Elysées. From the Louvre to the 'Arc de Triomphe' this avenue is divided into two parts. Between the Louvres and the 'Rond point des champs Elysées' there are gardens and between the 'Rond point' and the 'Arc de Triomphe' there are shops, restaurants, café ... also the Lido Cabaret, the QUEEN. THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AVENUE IN THE WORLD. 'Aux Champs-Elysées, à midi ou à minuit , au soleil ou sous la pluie on trouve tout ce que vous voulez aux Champs-Elysées' (Joe Dassin) Leave a Comment Directions: Subway station : Charles-de-Gaulle-Étoile, GeorgeV, Champs-Elysées Clemenceau, Concorde.Other Contact:

The Louis Vitton Store by ChrisRJ For most people you probably won't be doing much shopping along the Champs Elysee, because you're really not going to be finding any bargains and most of the stores are 'high end'. However, it's a street that's filled with hustle, people and a busy Parisian feel. A suggestion would be to take the Metro to the Arc De Triomphe and then after you've seen that walk down the Champs Elysee. Leave a Comment

Champs-Elysees by Robmj This famous avenue links the place de la Concorde with the Arc de Triomphe and is a very pleasant 30 minute 2km walk if you choose. The avenue is lined by shops, cafes, restaurants, fashion shops, old apartments and now has been renovated with granite sidewalks and trees. Many famous events regularly take place on the Champs-Elysees. by SURFIN7TH Walk down Avenue des Champs-Elysees. What a great place to people watch, eat, drink, and be merry. Like all of Paris its very expensive. I discovered here that the price of your coffee and lunch is higher if you sit at the tables than if you take it away. Pay the extra money and ease into the Paris lifestyle. Leave a Comment

Les Champs Elysees looked beautiful all lit up with little white fairy lights for Christmas. One of the most famous streets in the world, it houses exclusive shops, cafes and bars, cinemas and it's own theatre. They say this 2.6 mile avenue is the most beautiful avenue in Paris and there is activity at all times day or night. It will still be alive with people and cars at 3 am and I have even been in a traffic jam at that time! The tree-lined wide pavements and general opulance make it a very pleasant place to stroll at any time. It is not just for tourists though, the stree is very full of Parisian life, with school children, workers, film stars, musicians and tourists alike, all adding to the bustling atmosphere. You will encounter mopeds darting across the pavements and traffic police blowing their wistles frantically in attempt to keep some sort of order, which all add to it's charm. Take some serious money if you want to shop there, but a cafe in a smokey Parisian bar costs very little to soak up the atmosphere. Leave a Comment

By all means walk along Avenue des CHAMPS ELYSEES!! It is the place for walks and entertainments of 'the cream of society', another symbol of Paris. At the entrance of the street you can see the sculpture composition - Horses of Cousteau. It ends with the Arch of Triumph. Leave a Comment

by cutestmidget Champs-Elysées This place is designed to steal the hearts of women world-wide. When you think of Paris, fashion and perfume, THIS is the place. Ladies - ensure you have plenty of space on your credit cards. Men - have a years worth of patience stored up... THIS IS SHOPPING HEAVEN! But it comes at a cost... Every 'haut marque' is here - you'll find the très chic brand names like Louis Vuitton and Morgan. The most that the 'common person' can do is window shop when it comes to clothing and shoes along here. For perfume and makeup (the really fun stuff!), head into Sephora - great prices and just ENORMOUS! Here you'll find the best perfume selection in the world, and a lot of the stock here is only available in this shop. If you want a unique scent - this is the place to find it. I wouldn't recommend eating here unless it's a special ocasion. The restaurants are fabulous but pricey. Even MacDonalds and Quick are pricey by my Australian standards. I would head down one of the many streets jutting off the Champs-Elysées and you'll find it's a little cheaper. I love this street. It's vibrant and alive with people - most of them are well dressed, as there are a lot of top model agencies here and it's also a big part of the business district. A lot of the French claim that they never go here, it's touristic, but there are really fabulous bars, clubs and restaurants - I've been invited here many times by French people I think they're all in denial! lol... :) There are some great cinemas along here also, that show English films with French subtitles - a really great thing for me! This is the centre of Paris, and despite the denial of the French never to go there, it is a reknowned meeting place for everyone. Leave a Comment Other Contact:

This famous boulevard (the second widest in Europe, after Unirii Blvd. in Bucharest) has two distinctive parts : a huge commercial / entertainment area (Place Charles de Gaulle - Rond-Point) and a walking area bordered by chestnut trees and municipal flower beds (Rond-Point - Place de la Concorde).
