One of the most brightly lit dome I've ever come across. It emphasizes the baroque-effect, lighting up by hidden windows.

Napoleon's tomb is the central piece in Invalides church.

Seen from above or below, all the visitors go round it, more impressed by the dimension of his memory than by austere look of the tomb.

This is where Napoleon's Tomb is located (since around 1840). It was a hospital and now houses a few old soldiers.

It looks great in summer with all the flowers in the surrounding gardens.

This church was founded by Louis XIV in 1670. It is part of a large establishment built to house disabled veterans.

I was not inside because it was closed during my stay.

Finding a War Hero stuck in hospital

The Invalides is the French answer to a War Mueseum. It's a spectacular collection of armour, guns, swords, and a horse. Nepoleon's horse to be precise.

The dome of the Hotel des Invalides is quite a sight. Napoleon's tomb is located underneath the dome.
