Going up to the first level by stairs means taking more than 300 steps, and it is about 57.6 m above the ground. This picture shows the view of the city when taken from this level of the tower. Our camera could also zoom far enough for us to take a picture of Sacre Coeur!

We were at the Tuileries at about 10pm, waiting to take pictures of the Lourve at night, when we saw the tower illuminated in bright sparkles of light. A laser beam was also being flashed from the top of the tower. It was a spectacular and beautiful sight!

We also took some pictures of the tower while taking a river cruise on the Seine.
The tower, being the tallest structure in Paris, could actually be spotted from quite a few places. We also saw it from:
Place de la Concorde
Pantheon
Jardin des Tuileries
Some interesting history about the tower during World War II (from wikipedia):
Upon the German occupation of Paris in 1940, the lift cables were cut by the French so that Adolf Hitler would have to climb the steps to the summit. The parts to repair them were allegedly impossible to obtain because of the war. It was said that Hitler conquered France, but did not conquer the Eiffel Tower.
In August 1944, when the Allies were nearing Paris, Hitler ordered General Dietrich von Choltitz, the military governor of Paris, to demolish the tower along with the rest of the city. Von Choltitz disobeyed the order. The lifts of the tower were working normally within hours of the Liberation of Paris.

We could see how tall the tower is, as we approached. It stands at a towering 324m (as tall as an 81-storey building)!
After queueing for about 20 minutes to get the tickets (we bought the tickets which gave us access up to the 2nd level, by stairs, at 4.50 Euros each), we climbed up to the first level. Very tiring, but the view you see is worth it. A restaurant, cafe, souvenir shop and toilets are located on this level.
Alternatively, you could choose to access the tower by lift (and of course you pay more).

In the evening, take the #6 metro to Trocadero and walk to the "porch". You will get a bonus light show (no fireworks) if you arrive at the top of the hour.
Eiffel Millenium Light Show
(goto about 5 minutes into the video above)
For bigger, better shots than mine shown here, goto Anthony's Paris Photos
and click on "Photo Gallery" on the left, open a bottle of wine, and enjoy.
Thanks to Anthony Atkielski for inspiring Tour Eiffel shots he spent so much time taking and shares.

As everyone knows, Eiffel Tower is an extremely popular landmark in Paris.
Most guidebooks recommend going to Eiffel Tower either early in the morning or late in the evening.
In reality, Eiffel Tower is most beautiful (personal opinion) in the evening with fantastic illuminating lights.
Be sure to admire from afar and make your way towards the tower.
Visitors are allowed in the second floor and top floor; the elevator entrance fees are 8.10 € and 13.10 €, respectively. However, if you choose to walk up to the second floor, it is only 4.50 €.

There are really enough reviews about the Eiffel Tower---my only advice would be to see it in more than one light, or use a slightly different lens for photographs. I used a star lens on one pic which is alot of fun sometimes----at night it is really different with all the lights.

The Eiffel tour, whether by day or by night is just unbelievable to look at. What a trademark!! To this day I'm still wowed!
Take the elevator up to the top, there is an amazing view of Paris and a souvenir shop half way through. Waiting time can be a little bit of a pain depending on the season but well worth it!

Does not need any more presentation!
The only think I can say more is that it was much bigger than I was expecting... really!
For technical details, tickets and so on, look at the official site or: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eiffel_Tower
I cannot see any reason to copy/paste here all the information :)
You'll have to wait some more tiome for photos. I have now a camera but I need to go there and spend some time making photos :)
I will take most of them in Montmartre, Place de Tertre most probably :)
