The Grevin museum is what you could call the french version of Madame Tussaud. Its one of the oldest tourist attractions of Paris and is recntly renewed. Here you can see all the historic and famous persons in wax.
Similar like Madamme Taussad, this is wax museum. Most of it are French artist. But you can find Hollywood artist too but not as much as on Madamme Taussad. In this museum you also can find french revolutionary leaders.
Rub shoulder with Marilyn Monroe, Madonna, or even Dalai Lama! :)
A "know-how" born of 120 years of experience, the Grevin is the symbol of the distinguished art of waxwork ther represents in minute realistic detail today's celebrities & those of yesteryear..
Discovering the Grevin Museum which has been completely transformed. Relive the Spirit of yesterday's and today's Paris through astonishing scenes; the great moments of the 20th century, the History of France and current events. Pubs, theatres, artist studios...
So many mythical Parisian places where you will rub shoulders with the Tout-Paris. You will meet and photograph and remember forever 300 wax figures :D
The musee Grevin is Paris' waxworks museum. It is in a beautiful building with a lot of character. You climb a marble staircase and enter a room of mirrors - a very special effect with the lights and multiple reflections. There are numerous wax models ranging from politicians (Bush, Chirac, Putin etc), figures from the history of France (eg: Joan d'arc, Clovis etc), literary (Hemingway, Satre etc), sport (Pelle), music, models, actors, the pope, the queen etc. In fact a huge range. There's even a real actor pretending to be a model who surprises everyone! It's a little expensive - 16 euro admission - but worthwhile.
The Wax Museum is reopen since June 2002.
The presentation is now better than the prior one and the museum is now at the level of Madame Tussaud's in London.
There is a tour within the museum allowing to see the stars of sport, spectacle and cinema and also a lot of histirical characters.
2 criticisms : the pupets are messed up and one goes rapidly from Marylin Monroe to the Napoleon's family.
The "Palais des mirages" was out of order when we visited the museum. They would have to repare it during the remodling.
Price : 15 Euros. Reduction for senior (+60) and young (till 14).
On the picture : good likeness for the pope (Bush's pupet is failed. They must have worked with photographes)
