Ok this is not your usual museum, it is an Erotic Museum, dedicated to one thing only, "SEX", it is in the heart of Paris' Red Light District. Entrance at the time we went (2002) was about 7 euros/pp. Very interesting, has 7 floors of art, photos, videos, paintings, and a whole lot more ofcourse all dedicated to Eroticism. Leave a Comment

This is a unique museum that's home to over 2,000 pieces of statuary, sexual aids, and general fetish items. There is both modern and antique art and selections. They had several temporary exhibits when I visited - Japanese art and photographs. In general most of the artifacts and items have detailed description labels and the staff seemed friendly enough if you had any questions. Photography appeared to be allowed - although there's not a possible way I could have posted any of the photos.
The museum is quite large, covering seven floors and really isn't for the faint of heart. Additionally, and this should go unsaid, you really shouldn't bring young children here. At the end of the museum there's a small gift shop - but make sure you purchase before you walk through the turnstyle, as it locks you from re-entry.

This is really something particular, you expect to find such a museum in Amsterdam instead in Paris, but when entering you will be amazed.
This museum is all about eroticism, from toys back in the ancient, to paintings, books, etc...
There's a permanent exibition that goes from Sacred Art, Brothel, Contemporary Art, to Popular Art.
The exibition takes place on 7 floors and there's really a lot to see at a really cheap price.
Must say tho that there are some really explicit pictures and video that you might not like.

When in Paris the Erotica (Sex Museum) is an especially nice treat. This delectable museum is located about a block or two from the Moulin Rouge. The art itself doesn't leave much to the imagination but, you will leave the museum a bit more knowledgable on the evolution of sex and maybe a sex toy or two.
