When we visited the Jardin de Plantes and passed the Musée National d'Histoire Naturelle at its southern edge one of our first times, we found out there was a huge exhibition of meteorites. So we decided that this was the occasion to visit this museum.

The meteorites were spectacular. Some were really huge in size. It is hardly to imagine that they came down from the cosmos. To see so many kind of meteorites helped me later to distinguish meteorite stones from other ones in the Western Desert of Egypt.

We visited also other parts of the museum like the gallery of evolution, the gallery of mineralogy & geology, where we looked at the fossiles and many more artefacts.

tHis is one of the oldest place and the history goes back to late 17th centuary.
Today, this ever growing collection offers you the opportunity to discover botanical gardens
