I'm a great fan of Victor...
I'm a great fan of Victor Hugo, and always try to seek out locations mentioned in his books. Unfortunately, they don't really exist any more - the city has been rebuilt too extensively.
I visited the museum now in Hugo's home, on Place Vendome. A great disappointment, not to be recommended.
Here are some things you...
Here are some things you SHOULD'NT bother seeing:
The 'Père Lachaise', it's a cemetary, I had heard Jim Morrisson's (of The Doors) grave was all decorated and that you could leave stuff there but when I went, all I saw was just dirt and 2 security guards towering over it. If you wanted to go check out other famous people's grave like say Edith Piaf, Molière, Proulst, La Fontaine, Wilde, Appolinaire, Balzac, Daudet, Chopin, Daudet or someone else, well it's not worth your time unless you've got a lot to spare.
Disneyland Paris, unless you have kids aged 10 and under or are not thrill seeking at all, what a waste of money. There are tons of things for little kids o do, but for anybody that wants a rush, there isn't much. The only things that were for an older public are Indiana Jones, Space Mountain, Star Wars and Honey I Shrunk the Kids. There are also Disney shows with singing and dancing that are pretty decent. Is it worth about 50 $CAN, no.
The opera : nothing to see.
The planetarium in 'Le Palais de la Découverte' is much too long, it lasts about 45 min, and with the lights closed, and the comfy chairs, and the soothing voice, it just makes you want to sleep.
The whole centre of Paris is...
The whole centre of Paris is one enormous tourist trap during the high summer season. Paris is less of a tourist trap in the spring or winter. Early spring is probably the nicest time to visit. But to be quite honest with you, I found Paris to be highly over-rated. Sure, the sights are nice, but then, so are the sights in Vienna, London, Berlin, Munich, Prague etc etc. Dont go with preconcieved ideas of 'romantic' Paris - you'll be dissapointed. If you want a romantic getaway to France, head instead for the countryside in Languedoc , Provence and elsewhere.
My husband visited Pantheon while my daughter and I did some shopping. But he said there were not many things to see. Please drop at the place if you have spare time.
Fun Alternatives: As for Musee Rodin, it is must to see. Rodin, a great sculptor in France, gave dynamic works to the world. My husband likes them. But I can't help but think about the tragedy life of Camille Claudel, who loved Rodin and died insane.Related to:

Entering in the Ritz.
If go go to Place Vêndome, and try to enter in the lobby to view a such famous Hotel , forget it! They don't let you in! Nor film the lobby not take photos! I don't understaand why..of course I don't want to walk in the corridors! I just want to see something!
Unique Suggestions: The people of the security must be very stupid, because, they tell me that if I step back to the middle of the place, from there I could film! Why only from there????? Problaby they would´t know that cameras had a device called "zoom"..eheheh
Therefore if you want to film , you know now what you must do!!
