Be prepared to pay for a toilet: there are numerous very small (a little gym inside - very healthy hehe) street toilets - there is no phone inside so better do not shut doors if you are afraid to be trapped inside untill you have cell phone by you hehe.

    Paris, toilets, lavatories, washrooms

On a different point if, like me, you come from a country where the use of a public toilet is free, please be warned that the vast majority of the toilets that we came across required entrance with a coin. When we went, it was between 2 to 3 francs but I do not know how this has changed since the advent of the euro. Save any change you get and it will let you to concentrate on the sights, rather than your bowels!!

    Okay, Okay... Neccessary...

Okay, Okay... Neccessary topic, toilettes are a must (double click on the photo). Most businesses allow use of the facilities for customers only. If you're aware of that and prepared you'll be fine. Many, have an attendant who is tipped - optionally. Advice, I did not offer to one time as I was in such a hurry for a train...boy did I get a toungue lashing! Have coins in hand or be embarrassed. Ladies, it must be advised in all seriousness here, take small packets of Kleenex in your pocket. Not many facilities had toilet paper in my experience. Again, if you're prepared with this nugget of knowledge you'll be just fine. Good luck and good hunting!

Just a warning for the gentlemen! Most public toilets in Paris have a female attendant ! Youll also need some coins handy !
