Provins has two rivers but you might not know it from looking at them as they both appear to be small streams. One is La Fausse Riviere (the false river) which follows the line of the old city walls around the old lower town. The other runs through the lower town and is very narrow and contained within stone banks and is lined with picturesque houses and window boxes. Take a stroll along both and along the Boulevard d'Aligre beside the false river which is in fact the old moat ditch. You will see different views of the town as well as the surrounding countryside. You can also walk along and onto the ramparts in the upper town. Leave a Comment
