Half of La Defense is actually part of Puteaux. This is the commerical district of outer Paris and is where all the big corporates have their head office in France.
The picture shows Tour Ariane. One of the first towers to be put up as you can see from its fading outer shell, but still in there! Offices for Societe Generale, Marsh Mercer MMC and many more. (Also where I worked - on the 20th floor).
The area is a great picture taking opportunity and offers many restaurants, bars, shopping areas and cinema!

When you get off the metro at the "Esplanade de La Defense" station, you may enjoy a splendid artificial lake fountain with fancy sticks and colourful helixes... but, you can't avoid the glass buildings around !!!
