I was so looking forward to treating my niece to Angelina's while in Paris and then learned that there was a location at Versailles-perfect, right? Not exactly, the Angelina's in the palace had very little seating so we had to have our hot chocolate while standing at a table.
Favorite Dish: And then there is the hot chocolate African, at the location in Paris, they give you some sweet whipping cream to mix in with it, not so here. My niece crinkled her nose and I knew after tasting it that it would be too bitter for her. They wouldn't allow me to reenter the palace with hot chocolate so I had to waste hers as I couldn't possibly drink two in such a short period of time.

After as morning of being around central Paris, we travelled to Versailles. Then made our way to the Château. We had bought our tickets in the town so made our way through security and into the Palace itself.
After what seemed like hours of walking we dropped in Angelina for a coffee and cake. It was a pleasant experience, friendly staff and some wonderful cakes and patisserie to be seen and of course eaten.
The original cafe was opened in around 1903, and they continue to try and provide that quality and service to this day.
Favorite Dish: Depending on the time of your visit, you could have warm food as well as snacks.
coffee and cakes will keep you going!

Oh my gosh we were so hungry and by now we had spend quite a bit of time in Paris. We had been very disappointed with the food there and expected the same thing here is Versailles. Enstead i found this little place which was recommended to me. We had sandwiches, hamburgers, pitas, chicken and fries here. We also had pizza. All I can say was the food here was great and inexpensive compared to the food in Paris.

Address: Versailles not far from the Chatuex
After a full day of touring the palace at Versailles and skipping through lunch we were rather hungry and decided to walk into the town of Versailles rather then search for a place to eat in Paris. After walking by several restaurants and looking at the menus from the outside we decided to have a Prix Fixe dinner here. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere in the main dining area where we ate was quiet and subdued which was perfect after a long day of walking. They had 2 different items on the Prix Fixe menu so we decided to try them both and split them throughout the meal.
The appetizers were melon and country ham and a salad with warm goat's cheese and seseme seeds. For the main course we were offered sirloin steak with sweet pepper butter and graten of sliced potatoes and pan seared scallops along with a green salad with balsamic vinegar. Finally for dessert the offerings were a glass of sorbet and ice cream and a strawberry melba.
Upon leaving the restaurant our waiter escorted us to the door and said a friendly good bye which we thought was a nice touch.
Favorite Dish: Everything except the steak was very good. We were surprised that the steak was a little more done then it should have been since all we had read about was how the French do not over cook their meat. Maybe it was because we were American tourist, but on the whole when we eat a good piece of meat at restaurants or at home we will tend to cook it on the medium rare side as it is much more flavorable that way.

Brasserie La Flottille
=================================
It is a good place, especially by nice weather, for a lunch in the Park of Versailles.
This Brasserie Restaurant is located at the beginning of the Grand Canal at the spot where the rowing boats can be hired. The name La Flotille is consequently well adapted.
This restaurant is halfway between the Chateau and Trianon. As the Domaine de Trianon does not open before 12 hour it is an ideal stop for a light lunch or a more consistent menu. One can eat inside as well as on the terrace.
The prices are correct, for example 9 € for a pizza. It however seemed to me that the glass wine called “tulipe” did not reach the 15 cl as announced. Free carafe tap water like obligatory in France. Correct and efficient service.

La Petite Venise definately has a top location, namely in the heart of the Park of Versailles, at the foot of the Apollo fountain and the Grand Canal. Formerly a storehouse for the equipment used to build and repair the boats that sailed on the Grand Canal, the building was named “La Petite Venise” (Little Venice) when the Republic of Venice gifted the king of France with Venetian gondoliers and gondolas in 1674 and the same name was conferred on the little restaurant now nestled in its charming courtyard.
Of course I know that whenever a restaurant is located at such a spot the prices are higher than averag. So I sat down with the intention to have a nice late lunch and a cold glass of beer. I order the beer and received to card. I immediately saw that the beer was €5,50 and my eyes rolled over because of the other prices I saw. A simple salad starterd at €13,50, so can you image what a lunch dish would do??? To be honest I drunk my beer, paid and left. Way too overated and therefore way too expensive!!!

There are several places in the Palace Gardens to get something to eat but we opted to stop by a local grocery store before we got to the palace and have a picnic lunch while sitting under the trees along the Grand Canal.

Walking walking and walking inside the park area will make you hungry or maybe simply thirsty.
This is the right place where you can stop for a break, lunch or simply something tasty for your stomac.
They have pretty good dishes, a little bit of everything is presented on the menu.
And you have also a nice view on the castle, the surrounding area and the fountains and the big canal.

A small group of my colleagues and I, only 17 of us, had dinner here. We had a special menu and it was very enjoyable. Staff were friendly and the food was good. I think the normal menu is better and more extensive than we had on our menu.
The interior is quite unusual - the smoking dog tag is quite interesting, the art work on the walls is an array of sketches and paintings of different dogs smoking. The longer you look at them, the more you realise there is something strange about them - they are in fact caricatures of famous international personalities in the style of a smoking dog. Look out for Prince Charles, Jacques Chirac, George Bush senior and many others.
Favorite Dish: I have only been there once, so can't really say what my favourite dish is - I can say that on my visit I had cauliflower gazpacho, charolais beef with souffle potatoes and a chocolate fondue for dessert. The coffee was good.

The restaurant (don't ask me why it is named Cafe) is in fact a very narrow long room, with a long comfortably polstered bank at the one wall, together with a line of 2-person-tables, each with a chair opposite, which may easily grouped together if more people want to eat together. Anything is so relaxed and original in this restaurant, including the food (emphasis on original) - you will not get plastics food there, and also I did not see any plastics decoration. The setup of this restaurant is somehow minimalistic, but very effectful and nice. The food really is great, you get free French bread and Caraffe d'eau with every meal, and the prices are very ok for Versailles. The restaurant is on the edge of Notre Dame market place, that might be the reason for the Fresh food you get there. Open for lunch and dinner. Besides the Cheval rouge hotel (which also is terrificly nice).
Favorite Dish: Cameleon Tartare with salad and bread (13 EUR), or try the Entres (3 choices for 7.80 EUR or 6 choices for 15 EUR), May 2008
