With a golf cart through Versailles by desert_princess, 2 more photos 28 euros per hour is the price to rent a golf cart ,plus you have a special route you can only use ,otherwise the vehicule stops. It is equipped with sound system that guides you and tells you info on the major sites. Plus it's great fun to bounce with speed through the holes on the road and scream :))) As the cart's route doesn't pass by the Queen's Hamlet , make sure to not miss is - it's my best memory from Versailles. Be sure to be at the kiosk early enough as they are closing around 17h - We were lucky to catch the last vehicule ,but there were NOT SO LUCKY group of americans that were left without their cart. We walked from the main palace to Marie Antoinette's estate, the Grand and Petit Trianon, but there's another way to get there if you're not inclined or able to walk long distances. Once you leave the main part of the Palace, you can head out into the gardens and find Les Petits Trains du Parc de Versailles, a tram that will take you from the Palace to the Petit Trianon, the Grand Trianon and the Grand Canal. According to the website you can get off at each of the stops or stay on the tram, the whole circuit is supposed to take 50 minutes by tram and it says it covers 5 km or about 3 miles. The tram looks like it currently costs €6, €4.50 for kids 11-18 and disabled visitors and free for kids under 11. The tram is enclosed but didn't seem to have any air conditioning, in the heat we were in, it looked like the people inside were baking behind the glass windows. We also saw people in golf carts, the Versailles website says they are only for people with limited mobility so I don't know how you go about arranging for these. Leave a Comment

The easiest way is by using the tram, called RER - take line C! You can go by bus (line 171) from Pont de Severes to Versailles-Place dÀrmes Or train (SNCF) from Paris-Montparnasse to Versailles-Chantiers or from Paris-Saint Lazare to Versailles-Rives-Droite Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Exploring tree-lined paths by bpacker Now, this is what I would rather do! Rent a bicycle (€6/hr) and explore hidden vistas, network of fantastic trails and tree-lined paths within the Versailles Garden. To rent a bike, walk down Tapis Vert towards the Grand Canal. The bicycle station is just beside the Ice Cream Stand. Leave a Comment Theme: Bicycle

TRI bus to all train stations, chateau, trianon, hame by pedmar, 4 more photos Phebus is the local bus transport service, very efficient and puntual, inexpensive to move about if without a car in the city. The main stations for buses are obviously by the train stations, which Versailles has 3 (rive gauche, rive droite and Chantiers) for passenger train service. The main bus station aside from train stations is at Gare d'Europe, at ave de l'Europe, near the local govt building or Prefecture and on your way to the market of Notre Dame. Taking bus H here takes you to the town of Le Chesnay just outside Versailles and the best mall ,shopping center in all the Paris region is at Parly II,superb ::) see the stop below photo 3 The main one for visitors is the bus call TRI, it has great figureheads painting of the historical figures like Marie-Antoinette on the windows, and the big letters TRI front and back. Takes you from each station to the castle and the trianons. Same service as Phebus. inside Versailles you can move by bus, and bus touristique, here is the Phebus the site for the bus transport in Versailles http://www.phebus.tm.fr/page.asp?val=tourismeb Leave a Comment

Versailles Castle is situated not far from RER station Versailles Rive Gauche. There are tables that show where to go that to come to the castle. From the center, I think it takes 1 hour around and it’s the last station of RER C. Leave a Comment Theme: Train
