We travelled to Céret by car from Collioure where we were staying. It is about 17 miles and we left Collioure in bright sunshine, some bathers already in the sea.

But we had hardly gone 5/6 miles before we saw snowy peaks ahead.

As we entered Céret we saw two remarkable sights - a very grand railway viaduct and the 14th century Devil's Bridge - no longer used for traffic and replaced by a modern bridge alongside.
Both bridges feature in the paintings of some of the artists who made their home in Céret.

Ceret was a charming find. We were staying at Canet Plage for a couple weeks exploring the area. There is a noted Beaux Arts in the town so we decided to drive up one day. This was the scene that...

I stayed in farms for the summer around the Ceret area. This was the biggest small town, it was full of english people, and i had lots of fun despite my short time in the city in between farms.
