This is an excellent French butcher shop with top quality produce.
We bought all we needed here on a self catering holiday. Everything is always fresh and you can ask for it to be cut exactly the way you want.
Usually a bit of a queue when it also becomes a meeting place with customers chatting as they wait.
Useful to know it is open on Sunday Market mornings until 12 noon.

What to buy: We had excellent steaks, stewing beef and loin of lamb cutlets. The Catalan sausages were very good - nothing we bought there disappointed.

We did not come across one of those patisseries that I avoid walking past because just looking in the window can put on 5lbs.
But we did buy our daily baguette from le croissant bleu.
There is a good selection of all types of French "sticks"and "boules" as well as croissants, a small selection of not very exciting patisserie and some very tasty pizza slices. The latter are very good for a lunchtime snack, particularly if you buy them when still warm - around 12 noon.
The shop is actually a Kiosk and there is often a crowd in front of it waiting to be served specially in the hour before closing (1pm lunchtime and 7pm in the evening).

THe Sunday morning market has a couple ofvery good artisan bread stalls with lovely rustic wholemeal loaves

The boat to Port Bou: Cheap cigarettes

Off to Port Bou

Cigarettes are really expensive in France so if you take the cruise to Port Bou not only do you get to spend some lovely time on the sea, you can also save money....

What to buy: Cigarettes but only at the end of your journey in Spain...just go to the port and get on the boat, it costs 16 Euros per person and you can bring back five cartons...although nobody checked, perhaps I could have brought back 25...

What to pay: Hmmm... a carton of Marlboro lights is 29.50 in Spain and 53 in France so you will not spend, you will save!
