    Queribus - must visit

From Latour de France you can see Queribus, the last Cathar stronghold. Rather than be captured the inhabitants threw themselves off the top, dashing themselves to the deaths onthe jagged rocks.

Queribus is the most atmospheric of the Cathar strngholds. In side it is a like norman cathedral, no mean feat when you consider how high it is (Perypeteuse, the Camargue, the Med, the prehistoric caves at Tautavel are all visible from the parapets. My photos tell you more than I can.
