Always try to speak the language, the attempt is appreciated and usually greeted with an English reponse. Also, be prepared to be stared at. It's really common to stare at people here, so try to get used to it!

Go to the Place de la Comédie, also known as the Place de l'Oeuf because of its shape. Great for hanging about and taking in the atmosphere. Leave a Comment

If you're an American who speaks very little French, at least make an attempt to speak the native language. In my experience, as long as you make an effort, those people that can speak English will know you're struggling and help you out if they can. Always say Merci!!
