Luggage and bags: Oh Marcel, tu tires ou tu pointes?[Oh Marcel, you shoot or you place?]. This is the non-ending question, the to be or not to be of this game. The word Pétanque comes from the provencal language, and means in french 'Pied-tanqué' and in english 'joined-foot'. Because when you play this game your foot are joined.
Played around the Jardins de la Fontaine. There are also competitions in the Arenes.
Folding umbrella for dates outside high season
Miscellaneous: Nimes has great weather, but outside of the obvious high summer dates, it can rain unexpectadely, even on nice-ish days. After many years visiting, I always carry a fold down umbrella. Doesn't take much room but very useful from time to time when you least expect it.
