  • The best way to get to Canet...

by Travelloz Written Aug 26, 2002

The best way to get to Canet Plage from Perpignan is by hopping on the number 1 bus from Place Arago, trip takes about half an hour, buses are reliable but not very frequent outside summer months (July and August), with one every 45 mins-ish. You want to get off opposite La Poste (the stop is rather conveniently called Canet Plage) and most bus drivers are nice and will tell you when you get to your stop if you ask them in broken french.

    La Cite de Carcassona.

You can arrive to Perpingnan by train, by car or by
air, but the most usual is by car. The city is very well connected to the french roads and it´s not far from important places like Barcelona or Toulouse.
The car and the train , and don´t forget the bus, are
the best way to go around Perpignan. If you travel with your own car you could visit places as beatiful as Carcassonne ( in the picture). This is one of the most important city of the medium age in Europe, and it´s only an hour from Perpignan.

  • Bus from Girona airport to Perpignan

    by Geraldine30 Written Apr 21, 2009

Perpignan airport is fairly small and flights are really expensives therefore the best way to reach it is to go to Girona airport and then take a bus to reack Perpignan.
I took the Frogbus bus and i saved quite a lot on my trip. The bus ride lasts a little less than 1 h 30. Here is a site that gives some information about those buses: http://www.terravision.eu/girona_bus.html

    By train from Barcelona

Taking the train from Barcelona to Perpignan was very easy and affordable. The trip took us approx 4 hours as we had an hour layover at the border waiting for the French train to arrive.
