The village of Pezenas offers a great tournament every year in the end of July. The tournament is played as both 'double' and 'triple' and a stadium gives you the chance to watch the best players play up close.
The courts are 'built' with gravel on a parking-lot near the center of the city, and it's possible to walk to the nearby bars and restaurants.

You need to have your own petanque 'boules' and a players-license. If you have forgot your 'boules', it's possible to buy them and lot's of other quipment at a shop at the tournament.
