This is the third tympanum created. It seems that the sculptural lines are carried across the apposed blocks of stone rather than as individual elements. Christ is seen in Majesty, greeting us at the center, with arms extended. He is surrounded by 2 Angels with trumpets and 4 with instruments of the Passion. At the sides are Apostles. The lintels are populated by monsters and a couple of rosettes like the ones in Moissac. (Visit our Tips at that great place). Below on a central pillar with Atlantes-like Prophets supporting the lintel. There is a shallow porch with more bas-reliefs on the right and left. Note the sinous shapes on the trumeau in the style evoled in Moissac (also seen in Soulliac). Leave a Comment
