Collonges-la-Rouge is a beautiful medieval town that will impress you with its lovely, red architecture and friendly people. Stop in a shop and do make sure to say 'bonjour' while walking around.

Even though we didn't stay in Collonges it is close to the road and could be used as a base to explore from although parking could be a problem. The town itself is very small and could be a little dull after a few days.

Le Cantou serves traditional french cuisine in a lively and lovely atmosphere. We were there on a nice sunny day, so we ate outside on the terrace. While busy, the service was attentive and friendly - helping us along since we didn't speak fluent french.

There were plenty of choices on the menu and from observing people around us, everything looked delicious.

Definitely gets busy at lunch time, so don't expect to just walk up and get a table right away.

Favorite Dish: I had the Duck confit and enjoyed it very much. Everything was prepared well and the portions were filling.
