It was in fact the place of real departure of our walking way anno 2008.
On the small place one will notice a big rock of granite. She symbolizes the point of encounter of 3 (under) regions: the Market, the Limousin and the Poitou.
The other characteristic is the death lantern (to see also "things à do"). Small very special monument, we saw three of it in the department (on the 4 existing) during this week. It is located in the middle of the cemetery.
Characteristic: She served formerly to "to light up the deaths in paradise expectation". In rock of granite, it dates back to the XIII th century and does not less than eight meters of top.
C'était en fait le lieu de départ réel de notre périple anno 2008.
Sur la petite place on remarquera une grosse pierre de granit. Elle symbolise le point de rencontre de 3 (sous) régions: la Marche, le Limousin et le Poitou.
L'autre particularité est la lanterne des morts (voir aussi "things to do"). Petit monument très particulier, nous en verrons trois dans le département (sur les 4 existantes) au cours de cette semaine. Elle se trouve au milieu du cimetière.
Caractéristiques: Elle servait autrefois à "éclairer les morts en attente de paradis". En pierre de granit, elle date du XIII ème siècle et fait pas moins de huit mètres de haut.
