I flew to Limoges on Dec 26th. When I got there I was a little suprised to see that there was no train or bus service into Limoges from the airport. Cab fare was around 25 euro to the Ibis hotel in Limoges centre.

When getting around it would probably be advisable to rent a car, especially when visiting the more remote places. There was not much public transport at all. Where we stayed offered day trips, but we would have been stuck for getting to places not on the itinerary.

TRAVEL BETWEEN AIRPORT AND LIMOGES CITY
The official airport website says:
No shuttle services between the airport and Limoges.
By taxi : about 15 mn to Limoges (20 € daily fare)
The city bus website has a map which shows that the number 16 bus runs near the airport but no buses go to the airport itself. You would need to change bus in the city centre for Gare Benedictins.

However the service is both irregular and infrequent.
